Temptation? or Obedience?

So my last post opened up the discussion of temptation;

in which I tried to share about our 3 yr old having a face-off with his brownie vs praying.

I am proud to say, after much temptation (as in getting off the couch 3 times to reach for the brownie), he abruptly ran out of the room, zoomed back in the room, hopped up onto the couch, and calmly flipped through the pages of the book he had grabbed…the Bible.  (ok, so I am a biased mom, and it was so stinkin’ cute!)

Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul,
and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today
are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit down,
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down,
and when you get up.

GOD has a plan… for our family…
as we start to head down narrow road…
knowing full well this is ALL about the journey
to the destination.

This is what we are called to do…right now.

~to pray~ without ceasing
As we rise; throughout the day; as a couple.
What does this look like with 6 children?
(this is the only part on my last post that showed up randomly)
Regardless of the distraction of each individual child’s need,
we simply just.do.it!

~to read~ His Word.
Often; any.way.we.can.
which btw, can include going to McD’s so the kids can burn excess energy, while we lay out our Bibles to read to each other.

~to follow~ the narrow road towards God’s Will.
Our obedience in the little things now
will only equip us for the bigger things of later…
praying for a friend, mentoring a young man, serving children, encouraging a new mom, reaching out to the unsaved

If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
Luke 9:23

as we follow Him we will share our journey of faith…
